Christchurch shootings: People directly affected and their families
Special permanent visa category for people affected by Christchurch shootings and their families
In 2019, Immigration New Zealand created a special residence visa category for those directly affected by the shootings at the Masjid Al Noor Mosque and Linwood mosques, as well as their families. It’s called the “Christchurch Response 2019” category.
This visa category was available for those who were present at either mosque during the attacks on 15 March 2019, or an immediate family member of someone who was there.
23 April 2021 was the last date to apply for the Christchurch Response 2019 visa. For more information, go to www.immigration.govt.nz and search “Christchurch Response (2019) permanent resident visa”.
